Take off for Sino Iron Family Site Visit Program

About a hundred family members and friends of CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) staff were reunited with their loved ones at site recently, for a jam-packed tour of facilities.
From the very young to grandparents, guests learnt about the project and what it’s like to work at Sino Iron.
They visited the mine, processing and port areas, joining CEO Chen Zeng at the Erumurra Dry Mess for lunch and activities, which included testing out the haul truck simulator.
Recent completion of the Cape Preston (Sino Iron) Aerodrome has allowed CPM to roll out the new school holiday program.
Staff who have been with the company more than 12 months were invited to enter a ballot for the first visit.
The next visit will be held over the Christmas school holidays. Each visit has limited numbers to ensure the safety of participants and limit the impact on day-to-day operations.
“Staff interest in the program has been very strong, with this first visit oversubscribed,” Rob Newton, Head of Corporate Affairs, said.
“It’s a fair indication of the sense of pride our staff have in the project and what they’ve achieved so far.”
Guest feedback from the inaugural visit was very positive.
“If there was any complaint whatsoever about the day it would have been ‘Dad, can we stay longer?’” Ted Lewis, HME Technical Writer, said.
“Needless to say the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all!”
