CITIC Pacific Mining
CITIC Pacific Mining is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong listed company CITIC Pacific Limited and is headquartered in Perth. CITIC Pacific Mining is a young company established to manage the company's first major investment in Australia, the Sino Iron project. The company's senior management have considerable iron ore, resources and construction expertise and experience in Australia and internationally.
CITIC Pacific Mining is committed to working closely with the community and stakeholders. MANAGEMENT TEAM
Dr Dongyi Hua - Executive Chairman
Dr Hua was appointed as Chairman of CITIC Pacific Mining in October 2009. He was previously with Beijing-based CITIC Group, which he joined in 2002. Dr Hua has held executive management positions during the past 15 years for construction projects across China, Africa, Angola, the Philippines, Pakistan and Algeria. He has extensive experience in project, contractor, cost and risk management. Dr Hua holds a Doctorate of Engineering from the China University of Geosciences.
Fei Xu - Executive Director Port Operations
Fei has more than 15 years senior management experience within the CITIC Group, including positions as Vice President of CITIC International Cooperation company and General Manager for its Transport and Power division. Fei holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Hefei University of Technology in China, and a Masters of Business Administration from Lancaster University Management School in the United Kingdom.
Shuchun (Jason) Liu - Executive Director of Infrastructure
For the past 20 years, Jason has held engineering, project management and senior management positions with China Jiangsu International Economic-Technical Corporation, and more recently within CITIC Group before joining CITIC Pacific Mining in October 2009. He has overseen large construction projects in the Middle East, Venezuela and China. Jason holds a Masters of Engineering from Tongji University in China.
Chen (Scott) Hong - Executive Director Commercial Services
Chen (Scott) Hong has more than 17 years project management experience - 15 years at China Jiangsu International Economic-Technical Corporation and two years at CITIC Construction. Scott spent more than 10 years as the main contractor working in countries in the Middle East, Africa and South America. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from China Mining University and a Master of Structure Engineering from HOHAI University.
Biao Xiao - Executive Director Processing
Biao Xiao has 26 years international experience in engineering, production, business development, investment and project management. Prior to joining CITIC Pacific Mining he was employed at CITIC Construction Company Ltd as the Project Manager. Biao also has vast experience in the aluminium industry and held a number of positions at Alcan as the Business Development Manager, Operations Director and EHS Director. Biao holds a Bachelor of Engineering in non-ferrous metals metallurgy from the Northeast University in China.
Qiangmin Sun - Chief Representative Beijing Office
Madam Qiangmin Sun was appointed as Director to Beijing Representative Office in July, 2011. Before joining CITIC Pacific Mining Pty. Ltd., she used to be Deputy General Manager of CSCEC International, General Manager of CSCEC Southwestern Subsidy, and Deputy General Manager of Africa Region, CICI, being profoundly experienced in corporate management. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Residential Architecture, Chongqing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
Charles Yau - Executive Director Finance
Charles Yau oversees the project's finance and accounting operations. Prior to joining the project Charles spent 14 years at CITIC Pacific in various industries and functions including internal auditing, management support for the CEO office, business development, and financial control in China, Hong Kong and Japan. Before joining CITIC Pacific Charles was a public auditor with Price Waterhouse for five years. Charles has a Masters in Business Administration, is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Malcolm Northey - Executive Director Risk Management and Control
Malcolm Northey has over 40 years of international project management and project director experience. His previous roles include Manager, Australian Operations, Fluor; Project Director, Yanacocha Gold Mine, Fluor; Project Director, Stanwell Magnesium Project, Fluor; and Managing Director of Signet Engineering Pty Ltd. Malcolm holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Law.
Warren Fish - Executive Director Health, Safety, Environment & Corporate Logistics
Warren has over 18 years experience in resource industry approvals, compliance and enterprise risk management. Warren has worked in the United States, southern Africa and Australia, and held key management roles in successful major projects including the North West Shelf Venture and Woodside Pluto LNG projects. He has held senior leadership positions in the Western Australian State Government, including Registrar of Aboriginal Sites.
Warren holds a Masters Degree in Archaeology. He is well respected in the academic community internationally, with numerous papers published in peer reviewed journals and has reviewed papers for academic publications.
Keith Ritchie - Director Human Resources
Keith Ritchie has had an outstanding career in Human Resources, with almost 25 years experience with companies including Zinc Corporation (CRA), Pasminco Mining, SCM Chemicals and BHP Billiton. Prior to joining CITIC Pacific Mining, Keith worked for Crossland Resources managing a broad portfolio including Human Resources, Safety, Indigenous Affairs, Environment and Community, and Public Affairs. Keith's last 15 years have been spent in the coal and iron ore industries.
Michael Elliott - Director Mining
Michael was appointed Director of Mining at CITIC Pacific Mining in October 2011. He has 35 years experience working in the mining industry, with 22 of those years spent working directly in iron ore mining. He has held senior positions in Australia and overseas in both China and Africa. Prior to joining CITIC Pacific Michael held positions at Sukari Gold mine in Egypt, Anglo American Aggregates in Huzhou, and SongVang Gold Mine, Argyle Diamonds and Newmont Mining in Western Australia. Mike has a combination of practical mining experience and technical knowledge and has gained commercial and mine management experience and maintenance of equipment in both Australia and internationally. He holds a MBA from the University of Western Australia.
