Heritage

The heritage team is instrumental in maintaining a good relationship with the people who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which CPM operates.

Practically, this includes the organisation and conduct of archaeological and ethnographic surveys, field consultations and meetings. It also includes co-ordination and liaison with the government to obtain approval from the Indigenous Affairs Minister to disturb Aboriginal sites.

The heritage team is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Western Australian Aboriginal Heritage Act as well as CPM's contractual obligations with the Traditional Owner groups contained in the Heritage Protocols which form part of the Native Title Agreements.
