In March, CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) employees and contractors participated in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave Mine Challenge.
Targeting the Australian mining and energy sector, this year CPM’s challenge was to exceed the $30,000 raised in 2009. With a staggering total of $53,074, CPM achieved 3rd place in Western Australian and 12th place nationally (up from 19th place in 2009). A fantastic result!
Sino Iron project partner The Compass Group (ESS) took out number one spot in the Mine Challenge raising about $60,000.
The national fundraising total for the Leukaemia Foundation reached $14,602,000. The 60 WA teams participating in the Mine Challenge generated $357,664, the most of all the states.
Well done and thank you to everyone who got involved, including employees, contractors, industry partners, family and friends. CPM looks forward to going one better in 2011!
