As part of CITIC Pacific Mining's (CPM) partnership with the Clontarf Foundation, Sino Iron project employees and students from Clontarf’s Karratha and Roebourne academies recently enjoyed a game of Gaelic football and a community barbecue at Roebourne Oval.
On the field each team was made up of a mix of students and CPM employees. While many goals and points were scored, in the end a draw was declared.
The Clontarf Foundation uses football to help young Aboriginal men develop life skills and improve their education outcomes and employment prospects.
CPM considers the partnership an important part of its long-term commitment to supporting Indigenous communities in and around Karratha and Roebourne, in particular the families of the Traditional Owners of the Cape Preston area.
