Visit the CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) stand at this year's Lions Club of Karratha and Dampier FeNaCING Festival on 31 July and 1 August and test drive a 240 tonne dump truck using our amazing driving simulator!
CPM is once again thrilled to co-sponsor the FeNaCING Festival's entertainment extravaganza "A Weekend with the Stars".
Children should also look out for CPM's health and safety mascot, Magnetite Man, who will make his second appearance at FeNaCING.
The big kids can also have fun trying their hand as a dump truck operator in the company's training simulator which is usually based at the Sino Iron project site at Cape Preston.
"The highly realistic simulator replicates some of the biggest machinery in the world, including heavy machinery used on CPM's mine site," Community and Partnerships Manager Carrie Clark said.
"The simulator has real functional cabin controls and instrumentation, photo realistic 3D graphics, digital surround audio and a motion base which imitates the true feel of the mining equipment.
"The simulator provides an incredible experience for those who have never driven a vehicle of this magnitude."
Festival-goers will also be able to visit CPM's booth to learn about magnetite iron ore as well as the massive Sino Iron project currently under construction.
