CITIC Pacific Deputy Managing Director Peter Lee recently addressed the prestigious ‘In the Zone' conference, speaking about the importance of Australia and China's relationship.
The inaugural two-day conference was hosted by the University of Western Australia and canvassed geopolitical and business challenges facing Australia and its major trading partners such as China.
Mr Lee spoke about the Australian-Chinese partnership and the mutual benefits derived from Chinese investment in Australia. He cited the Sino Iron project as an example of the economic, community and social benefits that can be achieved.
The conference title ‘In the Zone' refers to the time zone shared by countries that make up 60 percent of the world's population, which includes China and Western Australia.
