Social Benefits

Being a good corporate citizen is pivotal to the success of CITIC Pacific Mining and its Sino Iron project. 

The social benefits provided by the project will be a direct offshoot from economic growth. Increases in retail opportunities, tourism and investment in other businesses will be triggered by demand from the project.

Through our community partnership program we will identify opportunities for the company to partner with regional organisations, delivering positive social benefits to the community. We will also be providing employment and training opportunities in the Pilbara.

CITIC Pacific Mining believes that by partnering with the indigenous community and traditional owners real benefits can be delivered. With this in mind, we have formed an alliance - planned to soon become a joint venture - with indigenous Pilbara-based contractor Central Mining and Contracting.  We will also support the broader indignenous community, particularly through programs which improve educational outcomes for young people.  

Because magnetite processing is new to Australia, our workforce will have the opportunity to broaden their skill base through learning new technologies.
